I feel robbed
Bought larimar earrings and went to a store in key west and they were a 3rd of the price. I should have trusted my gut and left. Overall the cruise was great but i wont buy jewelry in Nassau again.

BUYER BEWARE! Last week I purchased a pair of tanzanite, white sapphire and australian opal earrings. The salesman told me they were authentic. However, I just returned from a local jewelry store (I was looking into having leverbacks put on the earrings) and was told by the jeweler that they are fake. The tanzanites are not real, the white sapphires are actually cubic zirconia and the australian opals are fake. I purchased these earrings as a gift for my Mother, I am beyond disappointed. Worse yet, I have tried multiple times to contact Silver Traditions to request a refund and it seems their phone number is not operating. Do not buy from this store!

We had a similar experience with Silver Traditions in April. We even traded in a small diamond ring that had no sentimental value for another ring that the salesman said was a white sapphire set in sterling silver. When we came back to the ship, one of the jewelry experts told us that we had been ripped off. We will be going to Nassau again in August and I am going to notify the cruise line about our experience. This store was terrible! Do not fall for any of the salesman's "sweet talk." It won't happen if you don't go there at all!

We were on a cruise ship that stopped in the Port of Nassau. We went shopping and entered Silver Traditions. A very nice store that looked upscale and elegant and had a wide variety of jewelry. My husband did the looking and choosing and the salesman stated a high price and then said it was 1/2 price sale that day. After negotiating my husband purchased two rings at the cost of $400.00 each. The salesman assured us that the stones were real and the jewelry was of the highest quality. When returning home we took the rings to our jeweler to have an appraisal done for insurance purposes and we received the SHOCKING NEWS THAT THESE RINGS WERE NOT REAL STONES, THEY WERE CUBIC ZIRCONIA AND NOT WORTH ANYTHING NEAR WHAT WE PAID. My husband called our Credit Card Company and they put us thru to their Fraudulent Dept. We have supplied them with all the information and necessary appraisals, etc. and the Credit Card Company is investigating this company and their fraudulent practices. We have also sent a letter to the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce informing them of the unethical practices of this Silver Traditions Company. We want to alert all future travelers to Nassau, Bahamas, NOT TO SHOP IN SILVER TERADITIONS. THEIR MERCHANDISE IS FAKE AND NOTHING MORE THAN COSTUME JEWELRY WORTH MAYBE 1/4 OR LESS OF WHAT THEY TELL YOU. BUYER BEWARE!

My husband and I just returned from a cruise that stopped in the Bahamas. We stopped in Silver Traditions, as the store presents itself as having a beautiful and quality selection of sterling silver and stone jewelry. After much negotiating, my husband and I purchased a Tanzanite ring that Henry Rios, our sales person, guaranteed us was real and an excellent investment. We paid $400. Our credit card company has made several attempts to contact Silver Traditions; however, every time the representative identifies themselves from the credit card company, and is calling from a recorded phone line, the store hangs up. This store is a fraud. They are skilled sales people who will take full advantage of you, and sell you a fake product. Do not support them. Spread this story to everyone you know. Don't let another person become a victim of this slimy people.

While Vacationing in Nassau, I purchased a Cable Link Bracelet, that looked similar to a Yurman Bracelet. I was told by a male sales representative that it had been part of a set but was the last item of the set, so he could give me a special price. I asked was it sterling silver and was told that all jewelry from this business was in fact silver. I indicated that it was not stamped on the piece, but he assured me that it was silver and that he would email a certificate of authenticity. That was July 2013. As the piece has started to wear in places, I took it to a local jeweler and after extensive testing...it is in no way sterling, silver plated, etc. I paid 200.00 and still no certif.

Questions & Answers

I purchased a Pink/White Topaz ring and pendant in March. One of the white sapphires has fallen out. How can I get it fixed? Only worn a couple of times.
